Portland-Hillsboro SpringHill Suites Awarded Top Marriott Honors

HILLSBORO, OR- May 10, 2007- The Portland-Hillsboro SpringHill Suites by Marriott won four top awards given by Marriott International, Inc.  The awards were presented in April at Marriott’s annual conference in San Antonio, Texas.

Mr. Goldman was one of three General Managers to win the distinction of being named a Diamond General Manager at the conference.  He then went on to be awarded the top honor for all SpringHill Suites General Managers, General Manager of the Year.  He has been the General Manager for the property since it’s opening in April of 2004.  Mr. Goldman said "I think the greatest honor any GM can have is the confidence of his owners.  To be nominated by Pat McShane and InnSight for my efforts was honor enough, but to be selected by Marriott as one of the finalists and ultimately the winner was more rewarding than I ever could have imagined."

The hotel also won the award for Community Service Hotel of the Year.  The associates participated in numerous fundraisers for various charities throughout the year including American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life raising $2200 and Children’s Miracle Network raising $1300.  The hotel also donated various supplies to a local homeless shelter and provided no-cost accommodations to four families during a community tragedy.  Goldman continued to say "I am so pleased that my staff has embraced InnSight's and Marriott's “Spirit to Serve the Communities”.  They have demonstrated it through their ongoing efforts, and I am delighted that Marriott selected us for this esteemed award." 

Additionally, associates Marisa Hoiem and Teresa Ancho won top awards.  Ms. Hoiem was awarded the 2006 Operations Manager of the Year and Ms. Ancho won the 2006 Associate of the Year.
