SpringHill Suites by Marriott Associates Receive International Honors

HILLSBORO, OR- March 26, 2007- Marisa Hoiem and Teresa Ancho of the SpringHill Suites by Marriott - Portland Hillsboro won top awards from Marriott International.  Ms. Hoiem was awarded the 2006 Operations Manager of the Year and Ms. Ancho won the 2006 Associate of the Year.  Ms. Hoiem and Ms. Ancho were chosen from associates at all North American SpringHill Suites.

Marisa Hoiem has worked for the SpringHill Suites-Portland Hillsboro since 2004.  “Marisa is a natural leader” says General Manager Terry Goldman.  “She has the gift of developing strong relationships with both her associates and her guests.  She believes in her staff and earns their loyalty in a way you don’t often see in the business community.  Marisa gives outstanding personalized service for her guests and leads her team to do the same.  We are privileged to have her as part of our team.”

Teresa Ancho works as Sales Coordinator as well as Hotel Administrator for the SpringHill Suites-Portland Hillsboro.  She has worked at the hotel since 2005.  Sales Manager Kate Van Nortwick says “She is the most productive person I know.  She always pitches in to help her fellow associates whenever possible.  She works extra shifts and comes in early and works late.  Teresa always finds creative ways to increase revenues and solve problems.  She also has a very giving heart.  She organized our hotel’s participation in charity events in which we raised over $3,000.  For those she works with and for the guests she serves, Teresa personifies the Marriott Spirit to Serve.”

Marisa Hoiem and Teresa Ancho will receive their awards in April during the SpringHill Suites by Marriott General Manager’s Conference in San Antonio, Texas.
