SOMETHING’S FISHY AT EUGENE’S RESIDENCE INN
The Eugene/Springfield Residence Inn has a unique new amenity…the hotel is providing PETS for its long-term guests. Sound fishy?
The extended-stay hotel that marks the north end of Eugene’s Ferry Street Bridge is giving colorful Beta fish to their guests staying more than a month. “Many of our guests stay with us for a long time, and we want them to have some of the comforts of home,” says Pat McShane, the hotel’s General Manager. “What’s more familiar and closer to home than a pet?”
The Beta fish are delivered to guests when they have stayed 30-days, and come complete with food and a bowl. The easy-care pets are receiving rave reviews. “Folks relocating to Eugene have fun naming them, and it gives our guests someone who is happy to see them in their home-away-from-home,” McShane says.
Several thank-you notes and positive comments from guests have led the Residence Inn to continue the program indefinitely.
