SPRINGFIELD HOTEL RECEIVES TOP FRANCHISE HONORS
The Courtyard by Marriott in Springfield, Oregon recently received the “Hotel of the Quarter” award from Marriott International.

Marriott International operates roughly 435 Courtyard hotels in the United States alone, and more than 500 worldwide. Courtyard General Manager Patrick McShane says Marriott uses an independent company to measure guest satisfaction through surveys that are mailed to their guests on a monthly basis. The results of these surveys are then used to score and rank Marriott hotels.

McShane says the Hotel of the Quarter award is an extremely high honor. “We are very pleased to receive this award from Marriott International, and we are especially pleased that our guests have recognized and appreciated our efforts to provide them with the very best service,” he says.

Rich Gagliardi, Regional Director of Marriott International, says the franchise headquarters pays careful attention to what hotel guests have to say as well, and the Springfield hotel was specifically recognized for its consistently high ratings from guests. “The Courtyard by Marriott’s guest scores have been in the “Gold” level for every quarter since their opening three years ago,” says Gagliardi. “To achieve those high scores, there is obviously a commitment to quality among Courtyard’s leadership and staff. They have done an outstanding job.”

The 116-room Courtyard by Marriott is owned by Sycan Development and operated by Exeter Hospitality Associates, both local companies. Exeter Hospitality also manages the Comfort Suites and the Holiday Inn Express (located in the Gateway area of Springfield), and manages the Salem Travelodge, and the Residence Inn currently under construction in Eugene.
